The Berceo shopping center has improved its environmental rating to "Very Good", according to the certifying entity in sustainable construction BREEAM. The center , which obtained BREEAM certification in use in 2015, with a rating of "Good" in the building , was acquired a year ago by Barings Real Estate, part of Barings, in name of an investor institutional.

The BREEAM ES certification is the main evaluation scheme for sustainable buildings in Spain, with nearly 500 certified projects. The derivative "In Use" is applied to buildings already built and in use and evaluates the management carried out in the asset, the use and type of facilities, the location of the buildings and the measures to encourage the use of sustainable means of transport, the management of purchases and materials in operational processes, and the application of environmental policies.

Berceo has obtained the improvement in certification for implementing improvements in the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, boosting LED lighting in common areas or including showers and low-consumption appliances in toilets. In addition, it has carried out air quality audits and measurement of renewal rates, satisfaction surveys and technical audits of facilities and enclosure. These actions have been carried out to improve the satisfaction of visitors and occupants and favor a lower energy consumption of the asset.

Inaugurated in November 2003, the Berceo shopping center is a commercial reference in La Rioja, with more than 100 stores, and an offer that includes fashion, home accessories , catering and leisure with brands such as Inditex, Primark, El Corte Inglés, H & M, Media Markt , Zara and Yelmo Berceo 3D Cinemas. Located in the east of Logroño, it is a strategic enclave where access to the city from all of La Rioja and the provinces of Navarra, Zaragoza and Burgos converge.

The shopping center is owned by Barings and is managed by Cushman & Wakefield.
