Cushman & Wakefield has advised the rental operation of the premises, property of Redevco. The establishment is located in the neighbourhood of Salamanca, in Goya 47 -the place formerly occupied by Zara-, and has 2,300 square meters and has four floors.
The Swedish multinational has selected six cities to test its urban store model of the future, including London, New York, Stockholm, Vienna and Shanghai. Madrid will be the largest in Europe.
The objective of the company is to open experiential establishments that allow to personalize products, taste Swedish gastronomy or go to activities related to decoration or interior design. In addition, it will have a strong technological burden.
The Goya store will follow in many aspects the line that Ikea already marked a year ago with the inauguration of its first urban store in Spain, located on Serrano street in Madrid.
Ignacio Acha, Associate Director of High Streets in Madrid, believes that "We are very proud to have led this emblematic project for Redevco and to help in the new IKEA strategy in the city center. "
